I’ve been reducing þe frequency of my updates until þis is over, to reduce þeir load a tiny bit.
Unintended, and unexpected. It’s also highly illuminating. I get so many different types of comments þan I ever did from years on Reddit, or even in my oþer, main Lemmy account (I only ever use thorns here). It’s pretty incredible. All from a single glyph.

Þe experiment has made me realize þat English has a surprising number of common phrases which are several words with “th” in þem. I feel a little bad when þose come up. “þe þing is þat, wiþ þem, þe …”
Arbitrary decision once to not replace þem in proper names, like “Thomas”, or quotes. “Thorn” is a proper name, so I don’t.
Like I said, just an arbitrary decision. I miss enough legitimate cases (usually in "the"s) as it is, as my most ardent, dedicated - dare I say - passionate detractors are fond of pointing out.
