Honestly just copying everything from 10 years ago 1:1 would be an improvement on most big applications.

I don’t even know what’s real anymore
shocking
What is it actually fair and restrained or something? That’s about the only thing that would actually be shocking at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they were actually electrocuting people.
Yea, I had a throwaway account already to use for the login so I didn’t bother trying it. They still managed to make it annoying even when I did it their way and agreed it is horseshit.
Agreed.
I DID forget about that. Thanks for reminding me I need to figure out how to opt out (assuming it’s even possible).
Yea just set up a windows 11 pc for the first time and the experience was basically:
It forces you into making a Microsoft account or log in with one, then it told me mine was locked even though I was able to log in fine elsewhere. I had to use the alternate log in method to get in (I know you can make a local account but I already had one set up for this).
Then it tries to force you to “back up from your old pc” which this was an entirely different system so I’m not even sure why I would want that.
Then it tries to convince you to send them a bunch of telemetry while reminding you that you’ll still get ads if you don’t, they just won’t be targeted towards you.
Then it tries to push microsoft office on you.
Then it needs to do updates which took like 45 minutes.
Then you’re finally at the desktop where you get probably half a dozen othe pop ups between windows and the vendor.
Then it’s “usable”
By comparison Bazzite took like 20 minutes to get to a usable desktop and isn’t nagging me about ads at all. I have a laundry list of things still to figure out but so far way less annoying.
Just bought a laptop and put bazzite on it to try it out and figure out if I can do all the things I want to do on it. If that all works out I’ll be switching my desktop over.
I honestly could not tell. It’s completely believable that something this stupid would exist. Like I didn’t necessarily believe it was but I wasn’t confident in either direction.
Unless the formula came from something that already existed that both Trumps people and these models are referencing to come up with the same number.
But that doesn’t confirm or deny that Trumps formula came from ChatGPT, they could both be drawing from some other source.
That bothers me too. Get an actual expert source to verify before you publish shit from randos on Twitter and Reddit.
Yea I’m not using anything that requires an app. If there’s an app I can host myself I might use it but I won’t rely on anything that can’t be controlled manually. The place I rent now has ceiling fans that are controlled by remote and I fucking hate them. It uses a shitty up/down button that has a horrendous delay or both the light and fan. It’s all the frustration of using a pull chain with no improvement. I can’t even figure out how to get it to switch directions for winter.
And yet here I am supporting people who use square credit card readers with Ipads as one of my job responsibilities… They just switched to bluetooth
We had the AUX jack but they axed it to sell earbuds.
They don’t need to take away the command line. Just to make it so a low skill user can get by without it. Even windows ships with PowerShell.
Also had to update virtually every time I touched it and half the time those updates would break it so I had to reinstall. I didn’t use it on a daily basis or anything and it’s been a few years so maybe they fixed that but it’s why I don’t currently use it (along with the fact that it’s a microsoft product and I’m trying to stay away from all their shit as much as possible).
they didnt account for much differentiation between the kitchen and the bathroom sinks.
Right which Is why I said they needed to differentiate them. Someone else responded to say that’s what they ended up doing in later games.
There’s more to it then that. There’s a bunch of different “clean” activities. Washing dishes, showering, washing hands, etc. Different objects can do different things. For example you can’t wash a dish or take a bath in the shower which is a “clean” object. To wash a dish they have to have a dirty dish to do so, meaning it’s a separate activity from other things you might do with the bathroom sink.
Just take the dish washing activity off bathroom sinks.
Easily rectified by adding a physical cutoff.
Why? All those kids are going to need something to do after they tear down the education system.
