The question remains: did you hit CTRL+ALT+F3 because you needed to clean your monitor, or do you need to clean your monitor because you hit CTRL+ALT+F3?
My terminal is grey :)
Ctrl+Alt+F3 sends you to TTY3, not a terminal. I’m sure you can make TTY3 grey if you really want to, but I doubt that’s what you did.
My TTY or whatever it’s called is also grey :)
I use slock with MOD+E in dwm…

i have a shortcut key that turns the screen off…
My terminal is partially transparent so that definitely doesn’t work for me lol
He means a tty not an emulator
But that starts a different tty, which will likely not be transparent for you.
