272·3 days agoImagine buying a car that works great except every now and then when you want to turn left it goes right. No one would willingly buy that.
Not even in the 90s since many people would have known what a command prompt was since we used it to launch programs. The only way someone is acting like op’s greentext is if they had never used a computer but had watched a bunch of “hacker” movies. And for an entire school and police department to believe it and no one says “that’s how I launch my Doom”? Not happening.

I’m also confused like you. Looking at the pictures in the article and the others at The Verge it appears to be a trophy or award like you get for employee of the year not a “statue”.

7·20 days agoThey’ve changed it a bunch and they rely on AI more now. When I took it it was more like sentences and conversations repeated over and over. It may still be ok but I don’t think it’s as good as it was.
I just hung out with spanish speaking people and used duolingo (back when it was good) until I could speak and understand spanish. That way takes years though. I would recommend including structured classes for anyone who isn’t an auditory learner.

The White Rose is a good example of one. The members were executed by guillotine.
Killing kids looks horrible and no doubt cost the nazi some political capital. Nonviolent resistance works just as well as other types. Non-violent and violence working together can produce great things.
This seems like a meme about piracy for script kiddies. These issues don’t really exist for anyone who knows what they’re doing.
Also remember that facial recognition has trouble with minority faces so if you get put on that list because some algorithm thought you were someone else you’re fucked.
