It does add a lot of very good playable content, but the quality and tone of the writing is a departure from the main game. Some find it a deal breaker.

Dude, The Fate of Atlantis was awesome. Don’t you be crapping on my LucasArts point and click adventure games
thank god we didn’t see a massive wave in inflation out of that.
Where are you that hasn’t seen massive inflation since COVID?
I heard how great the Outer Wilds was, so when I saw The Outer Worlds on sale I thought “oh hey sure I’ll buy that for $15” and I was EXTREMELY confused at why people had said it was the best game you could only play once, because that game wasn’t even fun the first time. I later realized my mistake and got the real deal and oh my god I wish I could forget that game and play it again.
Macs also lack GPUs suitable for gaming. The modern ones are remarkably efficient, partly because they didn’t jam a 4060’s worth of graphic silicon into them. Why would they? Macs are for web browsing, media creation, productivity if you’re in the C-suite and making other people think you’re cool if you’re in a coffee shop. Their users do not expect to run AAA games at 4k60fps.
I think they conflated multimode with DWDM.
Equilibrium is a really boring movie. Imagine if The Matrix’s fight scenes were centered around a gunfighter whose primary strategy is to stand in one spot and that doing so was a plot point and all the neat plot points of The Matrix were replaced with a plot about not feeling emotions.
Feel nothing, stand in one spot. Movie done.
I don’t understand how the ATX standard hasn’t adopted higher voltage rails for GPUs. Higher volts mean fewer amps which means less heat. 44A through an 8 pin connector is going to make a lot of heat. 11A at 48v would be much better.
I recently bought a Mac Mini because music production on Linux had me fighting my tools more than using them. My Linux box is a 7800x3d/7800xtx. The Mini idles at 4w, while the 78000xtx alone idles closer to 50w. I use the mini for everything non-gaming now.
I haven’t thought about H*R in a loooooong time. Thank you.
Totally agree. It’s silly how much better ToTK is at 60fps.
If you hack your Switch and overclock it up to the stock Nvidia shield speeds most games run a lot better.
Yeah, they’re jerks who happen to produce good games from time to time and build consoles out of parts that are 4 years old at launch.
I believe Nintendo went after Switch emulators because the new Switch shares enough with the original to make it a cake walk to emulate Switch 2 games with better performance.
If someone who I considered a friend pulled that kind of stunt with me I would have one fewer friend. Screwing with people is rude and it’s plain bully behavior when you know they’re stressed and you mess around with a thing that is cruicial for them. You had fun at someone else’s expense.
So what’s the benefit of temporarily putting your friend in distress? What got better as a result of you scaring them?
MacOS vs Windows 11 is an easy choice. Recall alone makes Windows 11 radioactive.

Nice info! A few notes:
Volts are not energy. Volts are a component of electrical energy. The drop in voltage is because of the additional load on the circuit that the charger represents. Energy losses come out as heat. If something gets hot while it’s doing its job and its job is not to heat things it means that it’s got a loss of energy somewhere. I’d bet that the charger warms up in use, and the loss is likely greater than the 1.75% loss that you were thinking you had with the voltage sag.
L1 charging is less efficient for a few reasons, but the biggest increase you get in efficiency from the L2+ charges is time. Triple the charge rate gets you full in an afternoon rather than overnight. But then you can parlay that into cost savings by timing your charge to off-peak times and charge up on cheaper electricity, if it is available in your area.
Electric cars do have an easily measurable range drop in cold weather for the reasons you outlined. Gas cars really shine in cold weather because not only do they not perform measurable worse in terms of range when the thermometer drips, but they also make their own heat, ALL THE TIME. In electric cars you have to use battery power to heat both the battery and the cabin, which is yet another drain on range. But, that gas combustion heat is loss in the summer when you’re not using it. Like the waste from your charger, but this time it also comes with emissions.
The wonderful side effect of buying cheaper games is you never have to worry about buying a game that is the result of a megacorp dropping $400 million into a metastasized web of sweatshop developers that comes with a "micro"transaction store where you can spend $240 on a new pair of shiny shoes for your avatar.
Be nice, Intel can’t afford real marketing these days.
Mario 2 music.
