I recommend Portal Revolution too. It felt closer to a genuine 3 story.
Portal Reloaded was great but also quite complex compared to the first two games and I think most people who liked 1 and 2 would find it frustratingly difficult at times.

It’s not.
I’m still pretty early on but the dialogue is awful, and the two main characters are authors whose best ideas for novels amount to trolls and cyber ninjas. Not exactly unique or inspiring books guys. (Maybe this is some sort of point or satire I haven’t hit yet but I doubt it)
At least, like It Takes Two, the gameplay is reasonably enjoyable, particularly if you’re playing with someone who doesn’t play games a lot. It’s flashy in that Uncharted sort of way that will make them go “whoa cool”.
Sidenote, are these frames any good? Aura seems to advertise on a few podcasts I listen to but I’m curious how people in the real world feel about them
It happens even if you ask how many “r”s are in “strawberry”. It’s a well-known AI gotcha that happens on most if not all current models. The typo in the original post is a little misleading and not that relevant.
Yeah but the money’s partly going to Blizzard so yeah…
Aren’t China the ones making the chips in their foundries? What’s to stop them from not exporting the chips to US hardware manufacturers in retaliation? Are there any AI chips being made in the US?
Finished Metaphor: Refantazio right before the end of the year. Fantastic game which is shockingly relevant to so much going on at the moment around the world.
I’ve never played the series but I am interested and planning on seeing if the new version is good / considered “definitive” by fans of the series. If it’s good I will likely play this rather than the original version.
Same strategy I’m taking for Dragon Quest 1/2/3
There’s a remaster coming out early next year! I’m planning on doing the same when that comes out
Neil Druckman making his staff work triple overtime to render out the new Verizon space phone in game
1000xRESIST absolutely robbed
If it looks like a developer made a mistake, it was actually the product owner. Or the user. Or cosmic rays. But never the developer.
Tank controls have been pretty universally despised for many years now. Basically since we got analogue sticks, tank controls never really made sense.
Stuff like the Grim Fandango and RE1 remasters were offering alternate non-tank controls back in 2015 and there’s probably earlier examples too
Ah, a fellow Into the Aether listener perhaps? Or maybe just a big JRPG fan 😁
I gotta check out Trails at some point. The whole tetralogy thing kinda puts me off in the same way Yakuza does but you gotta start somewhere I guess!
If you liked this I really hope you’ve dug into 1000xRESIST. They’re not super similar but enough so that I think if you liked 13 Sentinels you’d probably like it also
Always love to see Mole Mania get some love. One of Shigeru Miyamoto’s earliest titles he worked on also
What are your picks of the genre?
I’ve also tried a whole bunch, my favourite is probably Rogue: Genesia, I really like the challenges and metaprogression over some of the other titles I’ve tried
This looks rad!
On a similar note I Wanna Maker which is more or less Mario Maker but free and tonnes of developer created and user created levels to play through.
Simple premise is basically Minesweeper, but all the puzzles are handcrafted with some neat designs and concepts that will stretch your puzzle solving to the limit. Also importantly, no guessing required to solve and it’s dirt cheap for the amount of hours of puzzles you get!
Highly recommend Millie Holton’s other stuff like the animated Long Head shorts, especially if you’re into weird Adult Swim type stuff
