Of course they have… 🙄

Yeah, I’ll put my hand up and admit I haven’t read the article :-)
That said, I think someone else pointed out that just because a show or movie is labelled as a Netflix Original, doesn’t necessarily mean they made it. So the kind of licence issue I was speculating about might still apply to a bought-in property.
Devil’s Advocate here, but I wonder if that could be a choice made by the creatives or the production company - like, “we hate advertising and don’t want it shown during our show, so that’s the kind of licence we will agree to”.
I think a lot of people would applaud that sentiment of refusing to have ads in their show.
Unfortunately the result would be that for noble, purity of the art, reasons they end up accidentally screwing people in your situation.
No idea if that’s plausible, but maybe?
And it worked. I just licked one. It tasted horrible.
Ah yeah, the Amen Break from Amen, Brother by the Winstons. There was actually a fundraiser for the guy a few years back, I threw in a few pounds, as his work has been the basis of a huge part of my musical taste!
That’s awesome, I had no idea he was behind that tune. I hope he got paaaaiiiid!
Yeah ,definitely see that style too. Guys like Miles (and miles) O’Keeffe.
Luke looks a bit like Mark Zuckerberg here IMO. It’s a bit creepy.
What you’re describing is (or at least was) the traditional way of doing Hallowe’en here in Scotland (and also in parts of England Wales and Ireland I think).
Trick or Treaters, more traditionally known as Guisers (because they’re in disguise) are/were expected to earn their treat with some jokes, or a song, or something.
It’s largely dying out now, such is the influence of Halloween (without the apostrophe) and especially the American version of it. Part of me is a bit sad about that, but on the other hand, it’s a hell of a lot simpler if people just hand over sweets instead of requiring a performance! Kids do still usually have at least one joke to tell though, which is fun :-)
See also this article on the pagan festival of Samhain, from which…
Mumming and guising were part of the festival from at least the early modern era, whereby people went door-to-door in costume, reciting verses in exchange for food.
Agreed, although, that money should come from proper taxation of the very richest.
They look like they were designed by Fiat:
Yeah, just Eve it as it is.
That’s what I thought, but really? Of all the cities in the world, the top two are 50 miles apart in central Scotland?
What does it mean by most addicted? And why are Glasgow and Edinburgh right up top?
Worth reading the whole Wikipedia entry, to see just how stupid this Looper guy was - discussing with various people both his advance intent to kill, and then also the fact that he had just done so. Wild stuff.
