I’m not defending it, I’m just saying anyone with eyes can see it’s not a scam at this point, whether you like the game or not.

Nah, games take a long time to develop, especially doing a single player and mmo in tandem. Starfield alone took a decade, take that and add an MMO on top with a live environment to support and it’s pretty obvious it will take a long time. Plus building a production company from the ground up.
There’s plenty to criticize CIG for but the scam claims are old hat at this point.
It’s obvious at this point the games aren’t a scam, they’re being delivered, bit it does look like the culture at CIG has toxic elements within it.
It’s not a big surprise though, there’s a history of nepotism within the community management side, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s similar within the dev sector of the company too.
Will Leverett is the head of player relations at CIG. Prior to this he did community management for League of Legends so…you know…
In terms of the layoffs though they’re just following the same dumb trend in the rest of the tech industry – firing people to make it seem like they have “cost discipline”.
Nope, the ending makes perfect sense and is foreshadowed from the beginning. The entire game is themed around the cycle of violence and revenge and how it prevents both sides from actually living, those themes are reinforced throughout the story.
The issue was Abby was built and gamer bros couldn’t handle it.
It’s not about the writing and never has been. The Last of Us Part II was perfectly coherent and thematically true to itself. The “controversay” around this game has always been drummed up because of the misogyny of gamer bros.
Yes…because it did. You’re literally just going to be in denial because it undermines your belief about how long a game should take?
