  • My “smart” bulbs are at the less online end of the spectrum, they host local wifi or bluetooth for configuration via their app, but even that can bite you

I added a wifi range extender to address the problem of stuff at one end of the house regularly losing connection and needed to point one of a particular brand at the new wifi

Its app hadn’t been updated and I needed to dig out my old phone stuck on an old version of Android to set the bulb up again

The insecurity of SMS is the inability of telcos to secure number porting. If someone wants to compromise your shit, they can easily steal your phone number, if your phone number is sufficiently public

One defence is to have a second service that is only used for authentication, and never share the number except to those providers that need to message you codes

-i asks for an interactive session

I use sudo su because running su with no options also gets you an interactive session without having to type anything but letters and a space

Both of these are for when you want a session as root which is nearly never necessary, but sometimes it’s more convenient that a set of commands preceded by sudo

My bg3 character is female. She was in slacks until act 3 where she could finally have a dress

We looted everything. I feel like there are two dresses in the game: the robe Gale wears and a white dress you find in a Balders Gate house near the end of the game

  • Yeah, it is harder to do. Specifically

    • you need to remove stickers in a way that you can replace them, if you want to keep them looking good
    • You need to undo glue, iFixit used isopropyl alcohol and force
    • Once you’re in its fairly easy to replace parts, but Nintendo don’t supply parts
    • Batteries are glued down, you need to destroy the foam beneath them to get the batteries out, Nintendo don’t sell replacement foam, or even a specification for the foam

By being harder it will be more costly to repair
