Definitely, and that’s why hard/strict laws or rules can be dangerous. Much like the famous “I know it when I see it” judgment on obscenity.
The biggest issue with this line of thinking is, how do you prove it’s CP without a victim. I suppose at a certain threshold it becomes obvious, but that can be a very blurry line (there was a famous case where a porn star had to be flown to a court case to prove the video wasn’t CP, but can’t find the link right now).
So your left with a crime that was committed with no victim and no proof, which can be really easy to abuse.

Outside of Maleficent, all of them have been shot for shot remakes (with one additional scene/song to make it “different”). And animation is just a better medium for magic and whimsy compared to what you can do in live action.

Yeah, I was surprised given the success that they didn’t even spit out something to keep people engaged with the game. Seemed like even a small content update or doc would have pulled people in.
Hopefully it just means the follow-up will be even better.
They’re still moving forward with the sequel (at least according to the article), so if I had to guess they figured they missed the boat with the expansion and want to focus on the sequel instead.
Refactoring a code base is kinda like general maintenance for the application. Over time deprecated features, temp fixes, etc. start to be a lot of the code base. By cleaning things up you can make it more maintainable, efficient, etc.
That being said, for systems this large you usually fix up parts of it and iterate over time. Trying to do the whole code base is hard cause it’s like replacing the engine while the car is in motion.

I keep expecting something, the lifetime pass has more/less paid for itself.

That’s always been the issue with laws like this, just causes people to find worse things.
Banning alcohol lead to people dying from bootleg. Making drugs illegal lead to things like people huffing paint (maybe cost too).
Some people have mentioned apple TV, for now that at least isn’t riddled with ads. Others have mentioned getting android sticks, but I’m not sure how smooth that process is (or how well they work with remotes).
I think the issue is they hit market saturation and haven’t been able to develop any real revenue streams beyond the sale of devices (which is one time cost while maintenance and development constantly drain them of any profit).
I suspect the increased enshitification is because they need other revenue streams. Just take a look at their stock price and it doesn’t paint a great picture for them.

Haha, well dread Delusion probably has a lower polygon count (sorta ps1 like graphics), but yeah every hit lands stats just impact damage/stamina.
Dread Delusion is the one they mentioned and I really enjoyed it. It’s definitely a more constrained game than morrowind (a few weapon types/spells/smaller map/etc.) however I didn’t find it that limiting. Finishing most of the quests won’t feel like a slog, but there won’t be a lot to do after finishing up the main quest.
What really makes the game is the asthetic and world building. Most side quests feel meaningful and you stumble upon them naturally through exploration and progressing the main quest.
The leveling mechanic doesn’t really lock you out of any specific skillset, and items and consumables enable you to upskill when needed.
The only real let down for me was the ending. It was a bit anti-climatic. Like a lot of these games its basically a slides how at the end on how your actions impacted the world.
