So is this a response to Vaultwarden becoming more popular?
(As an aside: One of the reasons I trusted a semi-proprietary hosted app like Bitwarden at all was that Vaultwarden exists, theoretically allowing me to move there if necessary.)
In order to not fully dox myself, I’ll just say the following: I came after Nils and left before Melissa did. Around early 2021, I found myself suddenly thrown in Ivo/April calls and feeling tremendously unhappy, not just because Pandemic Year II sucked in general and team dynamic went to shit but also because these marketing folks were discussing not-so-grand grand ideas and blatant GDPR violations while sending literal hundreds of inexplicable 👏 emojis into the chat window of every call.
That’s a rather uncaritative interpretation of my words. I left of my own accord.

Hm… Reading the names of Ivo and Spencer triggered something in me. There are good people there too. These two are pretty obnoxious. Granted, the mock-German is ill-fitting for the two though, with one of them being an American, the other a Bulgarian(?) living in Germany.

You don’t need to install the rest of Yast. The package manager as the biggest, most complicated part of Yast, that also needed special UI not needed for other parts of Yast is kind of an oddity in terms of development as well, iirc.
