I hadn’t heard of this either but here’s an article about Facebook keeping shadow profiles on non-users that references an article from 2012 where Target’s data collection determined a teen girl was pregnant before she told her dad

Lmao they really put a coffee cup alongside it, as if unrolling your laptop display like this at a Starbucks would be perfectly normal
I’ve been running pop_OS! on my Razer Blade for a few years with no issues. They install Nvidia drivers by default and also have power profiles that support hybrid graphics out of the box.
On my desktop gaming PC (with an APU and NVIDIA 10-series GPU), I’ve tried EndeavorOS and Garuda but I haven’t been able to get waking up from sleep to work on either, it crashes my graphical session everytime
Just got one myself! 🤞
Lmao that community is hilarious - it’s all the most blatantly biased low-brow cheap shots about Linux I’ve ever seen and is just being spammed by 1-2 haters all the time 🤣
As a former elementary school teacher, I fully agree. IXL is decent for skill reinforcement but falls short when it comes to teaching new content and principles. It turns out most students benefit from learning in a group where another student might not get the content initially and ask clarifying questions and have the teacher repeat, rephrase, and reteach. Or classmates work in pairs or small groups and teach each other, for example. IXL was great for practice and did allow the teacher additional flexibility to work with students who needed more help or a more personalized approach, but I would not want my students to exclusively use it.
This article suggests baking soda not only neutralizes the acids produced by plaque but is also a mild abrasive effective at removing plaque
I also sprinkle a little baking soda on my toothpaste to further remove plaque
I bought a 5.25" bay LG one for my PC and installed libredrive on it a year ago. So far all I’ve done with it is burned a few CDs for a friend with an old car lol
If memory serves, in the movie she only breaks his ankles with a sledgehammer instead of cutting off his foot (feet?).
My grandfather was one of these self-absorbed narcissistic professors who had multiple affairs with students over the years as well. I think academia is just one of those domains that attracts this type of person.
Yep I create smart collections and then hide them from the main library exactly like you described. Once I passed 2K movies I really needed collections to make it easier to find things to watch
Shadows’ EULA also includes a provision that allows the game to monitor your PC’s RAM to ensure you’re not running any unauthorized programs like macros, cheats, or hacks, a well-intentioned clause that nonetheless feels a touch out of place in a single-player game
Why the fuck would I allow Ubisoft to monitor my RAM while playing a SINGLE-PLAYER GAME. They just want to datamine my PC or something?
This could be bad news indeed. Sony has at least been releasing their exclusive titles on PC recently, so even if they go through with the acquisition we might still get future FromSoft games on PC (hopefully) but the tidbit about their anime and manga holdings is also troubling.
There are also fringe externalities from this too. I have my mom’s last name for my middle name and my dad’s for my last name. But back in the 90s, my state would erroneously handle that scenario as having no middle name and both names hyphenated for a last name. I didn’t find this out until I turned 18 and tried to get a retail job and they wouldn’t hire me until it got fixed.
First I had to go to the Dept of Health and get a new birth certificate, then I had to do the same at the social security administration for a new social security card. Hours and hours over multiple days just so I could earn minimum wage folding and selling used clothing. Ironically, the name mixup never was a problem when I did taxes previously.
Hard to understand the calculus of people who would still be willing to buy a Tesla at this point. They’re literal death traps with shoddy manufacturing
Yeah those are what I am currently using as well, was mostly curious about what their were talking about re tor routing or w/e
the Freedom of the Press Foundation’s Holmes suggests users try the private browsing feature in the Brave browser, which uses a stripped-down version of Tor’s anonymous routing by default.
Better alternatives than this? I use a VPN but not Tor at the moment
We knew he was in bad health when he announced his retirement 5 months back due to being house ridden with emphysema but I didn’t think this day would come so quickly. 😭 RIP to one of the GOATs
