Hm sounds like the bug is in the code that handles the “one session only” rule

Per Microshits T&Cs you can only have 1 session of any kind at a time unless you get the super special business multi seat RDP license (because ofc)

I actually have a Powershell script I found awhile back that patches the RDP DLL so it stops caring about multiple sessions

I spent entirely too much time trying to track down

EC2 are cloud based virtual machines, very easy to spin one up exactly as you need it to run whatever.

But they’re billed hourly and they get very expensive very very fast especially when you leave it on (the hourly billing is for a machine that’s on and running) and have shit tons of resources on it. You can have multiple terabyte RAM machines at the click of a button

You don’t own a community on another instance, it’s not even an ambiguous question, you can make one and be the main or only mod. But you do so with the understanding that the actual instance admins can remove you as a mod at any time.

You can still have that level of ownership with your own Lemmy instance, if you wish
