  • Sorry to bother you (2018)

It was good. A dark comedy about exploitation in capitalism and racism. Kinda crazy, but it was fun.

Behind the mask: the rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)

Also good. Another dark comedy. A slasher/killer movie…but from the perspective of the killer and the effort he puts into being a killer. Quite funny actually. Recommended.

  • Wife approval factor

My wife won’t use it if she can’t see an app for it to click on to start using immediately. Going through browsers is not an option. Not having a dedicated app on the LG TV is not an option. Not being able to find something instantly means instant rejection. She refused Plex, but now sometimes uses it and has learnt to find subtitles, etc by herself.

I don’t touch my self hosted apps. If something doesn’t behave properly on the first attempt then it gets rejected from our household. It’s only for us enthusiast nerds to put up with kanky UI and setup issues for the sake of superior functionality. Normie’s won’t tolerate it.

  • The Steam Deck was the reason I changed. Used the Deck as my only PC for a couple of months and liked the experience so I changed.

I’ve had OpenSUSE on my PC for over a year now and really like it… But I’ll be honest, the move and troubleshooting problems for setup was a pain in the ass. But it’s stable and steady since I’ve gotten over setup pains.

A lot of characters are short range or melee.

There are a bunch of flying/gliding/wall climbing characters, but a lot of characters don’t have tools to deal with enemies who are not grounded.

The game has been fun, but I’ve given it up now mainly because of balance and match making issues. >80% of the games I play are completely one-sided. One team will never be able to touch the objective or will be completely confined to the spawn point. Even if I’m on the winning team, such one-sided steamrolling is no fun.

  • Not sure about passing judgememt on being an asshole, but the title really makes me wonder how you draw that connection at all. Men’s gender expectation is to be a drone at work and women’s expectation is to be a drone at home…so these movies are related?

Nightbitch was going to be a decent commentary on the difficulties of motherhood and it starts to mention some of the underlying issues…and then it collapses into incredibly simplistic drivel in the third act and undermines everything good it did up to that point. I haven’t read the book, but this really made it seem like the author got fed up and just wanted to wrap things up with the simplest thing that came to her mind.
