But I don’t need a machine to take out the battery and replace it. It’s just something else to take up room on my nightstand and eventually break. I’d bet they somehow figure out a way to make it a subscription service too.

TDP, or Thermal Design Power, is a crucial concept for devices like the Steam Deck. I’m pretty sure the simplest way to look at is an LLM can only respond, not generate anything on its own without prompting. I wish humans were like that sometimes, especially a few in particular. I would think an AGI would be capable of independent thought, not requiring the prompt.
