it’s not philosophy it’s ideology and personally my answer is yes. I spent my 20s hanging out with white people who openly though i was “one of the good ones” i’m so beyond over it. I’d rather have no friends than friends who I need to apologize for. Like what am i learning about my views? that I’ve surrounded myself racist assholes?

I’m not saying your wrong, or really trying to make an argument, but the book “bowling alone” came out in 2000 and it was describing the fall into social isolation and alienation before social media or the balkanization of news and entertainment. To go further back Marx was talking about the alienation of labor as far back as 1844. Like capitalism is killing us, the increased view/reach of technology is just making it obvious.

Story yes, game no.

The only reason I completed it was because I wanted to see the end, but by the end I hated the game so much I can’t play the entire genre anymore without almost physical pain… The mechanics of random battle and grind cause my spirit to flag and my will to drain, now no matter how good the story of the game is I just can’t.

Xenogears man, I hate that game. It put a deep hatred for random battles into my heart which killed most JRPGs for me.

You could literally hear the CD stop and the random battles load.

I use notepad++ like most sensible people so I didn’t even know this was a thing until I read this article and even then, you have to click the button to get the pop up. It definitely should be opt in and not just sitting there, but if you’re just trying to write a quick note it’s not just popping up and stopping you.

But it is though, it’s for a feature that you don’t need and can just turn off and never see again…

I really tried with Avatar, but the CGI is too cartoony, the second one is the worst because they have billy the human boy interacting with these cartoon characters for half the movie which just makes the uncanny valley deeper.

Its not looking unreal that’s the problem its how hard it tried to be realistic and still failed.

is it overengineering or just a push back against “make each program do one thing well,” and saying yeah but I have n things to do and I only need them done, well or not I just need them done and don’t want to dig through 20 files to do it…

more competition making headsets

quite the opposite has happened, there are fewer companies making headsets now. Microsoft is removing their version of open platform, mixed reality from windows entirely…

As someone points out above, this just gives them the power to not authenticate real videos that make them look bad…

And that will in no way be the first step on the road to VLC deciding which videos it allows you to play…
