Who holds fact-checking companies accountable?

Well, he’s right, if they’re quitting over him removing the fact checkers. He’s also virtue signaling that he’s actually for free speech by removing them, just as he was virtue signalling that he was a good boi by hiring them in the first place. Zuckerberg is going to signal to whoever is currently in power that he’s going to do whatever they tell him to, no matter who it is, because it’s in the best interest of his position at fb.

I think getting rid of fact checkers is a good thing, but I don’t think for a second that he wouldn’t immediately get them back if the next admin told him to.

What? It’s just a clone of X that is anti-X. It’s not decentralized at all, it’s Twitter for the original blue check people only, and they’re already eating each other alive in there.

People going over don’t care who owns it, they just want to use a platform that regularly censors thoughts they disagree with. That’s it.

I use 1440, which sums up daily news in a fact-based way and leaves out all opinion. It’s magical. It takes 10 minutes to read and I’m not bombarded by why “libtards are destroying america” or why “this ties back to trump destroying democracy” somehow.

Highly recommend it for daily news.

I’m not omiting anything, just adding that some privilege comes along with the sexism.

Why’s that? People like me fine.

I’m a woman in STEM. I only went to a CC, so maybe there’s a difference there, but I didn’t experience much sexism in my time there.

I have experienced it at work, but usually from the younger, unsocialized men. Is it a problem? Sure, but I’ll take that over my bosses being sexist.

Also, along with the sexism does come some privilege. When I do something wrong, I tend to get taken easier on when it comes to punishment. I also am able to form… different (non-sexial) bonds with the higher ups. These dynamics are much different to any bonds I had with female bosses from my previous field of work, and they’re different than the bonds the higher ups have with my male counterparts. I can say that I don’t worry about being laid off or fired.

However, I’m also fairly certain that I have a sharp awareness of these bonds and how to manipulate them to get what I want.

Not trying to poo-poo any sexism claims, just that there’s also certainly a privilege to be had being a woman minority in a male-dominated field.
