Systemd-boot and the service files and timers are pretty neat. Works fine as an init too I guess

These are the same people who later on complain about Linux being shit because it just breaks
You ask someone for instructions
They send you some bullshit 10 minutes long video
Now instead of ctrl+f or skimming the article and jumping where you want to go you need to jump around in a video

Haven’t heard of that one, aside from the iMessage thing which didn’t really make a good impression on me. But outside of that it sounds interesting.
I was trying to find a solution to have all the news sources I care about in a single app. Then I remembered RSS and was able to do that very easily. I use self-hosted Miniflux and just use that as pwa when on my phone. Ridoculously lightweight and very awesome. I also setup Readeck (a Pocket alternative) where I push longer articles for when I’m up for reading more instead of just checking the latest news. I love it
I get why they aren’t going for it, even though it could be handy
I’m living this pain with a custom ROM already, with some banking stuff, Google Wallet, WhatsApp passkeys and I think Netflix (haven’t installed it) block you for tripping up Google’s security tests.
If passkeys become a big thing and they’ll start enforcing them and apps that have those security measures I’m going to fucking firebomb something. REEEEEE
Family, friends and most people in general I know use WhatsApp. It’s very very popular in some places.
I mean I love the passion and I love Signal too but I’m not going to stop messaging my family and friends over their decision to use WhatsApp. Can’t get everyone to switch.
And if they had interoperability towards WhatsApp and had their own stuff too those not using it wouldn’t have to have anything to do with WhatsApp
You’d have better privacy when talking Signal to Signal. Interoperability would be towards those using WhatsApp and then it’d be either using Signal to chat with them or being forced to use WhatsApp’s app.
I’m assuming they’d have two different ways to communicate instead of just switching it all to WhatsApp’s system.
The benefit would be the ability to chat with those refusing to move away from WhatsApp without having to use the Whats App. I get why they aren’t going for it, but I guess it could be handy.
I’m already hearing about restrictions on exporting passkeys and some apps requiring that you’re not running a custom ROM on Android and stuff like that. Makes me worried they’re going to fuck that up and make it restrictive bs
Didn’t Biden specifically say that enforcement was up to Trump?
I was really intrigued when I heard openSUSE Aeon would be defaulting to automatic TPM unlocking. I thought it would be nice, it just boots into my login screen and that’s handy since I’d just have to write one password (instead of writing luks unlocking password and my login password, I would just write the login password).
Then I realized I can just set my account to autologin and I’ll still have to write just one password (luks) with the added benefit that it doesn’t automatically unlock/decrypt the system. Oh well.
With the target on the back, no shit this was removed lmao

I mostly remember it as reporting abput random ass topics “transsexual ketamine dealers of Uruguay” type of stuff.
I mean it is, but it’s also not a bad thing in moderation (heh)
