You’re free to start your own social media where you’ll allow it, that’s how free speech works, as long as the place where you’re sharing your message is owned by private interests, the owner can censor you all they want.

Shitter can censor you all they want, they have zero obligation to allow you to say whatever you want as it’s a privately owned website. You can run your own website and say what you want on it though, just like you can put whatever message you want on your car or on your front lawn and people are free to read it or ignore it.

That’s exactly how it works though. You can say whatever you want on the sidewalk, once you enter a store it’s the store owner that decides if they allow you to say what you want to say.

You can say what you want on your own website, if you say it on someone else’s website they can censor you all they want.

You have freedom of speech where the government can give it to you, stop expecting freedom of speech on platforms owned by private interests, that’s not how freedom of speech works.

I think game enthusiasts (i.e. people hanging on the Internet to talk about games) don’t realize the difference in sales for a successful innovative game (Stardew Valley for example) and mainstream games… Sure Stardew sold 40m copies since 2016, but CoD sells 10m+ every year!

Had a colleague that did it as a side gig and no matter how many times I told him to do it, he always refused to do the calculation to figure out how much he was making after expenses.

Pretty sure that for most things it’s simply that there’s one software that’s way above the rest or you simply have no interest in the fields where people debate what is best and on Linux you often are stuck with the one software that does the trick because there’s not enough demand for real competition that pushes devs to come up with something as good as what you’ll find on Windows.

Yet I’m sure it doesn’t keep you from buying from Steam when games are only on there, right?

Don’t talk about wanting a free market if that’s not what you want.
