FTL for me
FTL for me
Oh right, and then he said he loves using the laptop now or something like that
I believe he said he started with Mint then moved to Arch, partially because of the memes.
For mods? Personally I just browser Nexus mods for what looks fun or interesting. Just getting command lines going is fun enough for a start. I always at least start a run giving myself a bunch of cash. But honestly, the vanilla game is plenty fun now and pretty well balanced compared to when it started. Still finding side content and weird stuff
For general modding I started with the Redmodding Wiki and then I got over complicated trying to use a mod manager, messing with Steam Tinker Launcher and Mod Organizer 2. In the end just did things manually following the redmodding wiki.
As a relatively recent Windows refugee, I want to share a recent success that has made me feel fully confident in never needing Windows again and fully feeling the Linux superiority.
I got Cyberpunk with all my previous mods running.
Maybe not a big deal for most people, but this was one thing that had kept me holding onto dual boot on my main device. Conversations online also kept making modding on Linux seem so impenetrable.
Then I decided to spend an afternoon figuring out modding games in general on Linux, and yeah parts of it was tough for me to figure out, but now I’m confident that anything I used to do on PC, I can probably do better on Linux.
I am ready to take up arms alongside the Weaponized Assault Penguin squad.
I’d like to say I did that on purpose to show how dumb they’d be renaming it, but it is I who can’t remember my East and West
True. Guess it’s more like them getting Google to change Greenland into West Alaska
Imagine being a tourist in the US, looking for an address you believe to be say, Martin Luther King Street. Can’t find it anywhere, even on Google maps, then eventually you talk to someone and find out it’s now called Elon Musk Avenue.
Not saying this is exactly the same, but if we’re letting people change the names of places on commonly used global map software willy nilly, even if it’s just region to region, we’re gonna end up with problems. It’s not like “freedom fries” back in the day that legitimately affected no one.
And I am suddenly seeing a parenthetical on the Gulf here outside the US, so there technically was a sudden change
I don’t think I had the timer, I don’t actually remember there being a choice for one. I think I’ll give it another go until I get a few more upgrades, in retrospect I might not have gotten very far at all, I have no recollection of coolant lines. Thanks!
Yeah, that’s how I like to play in general as well, yet… I guess maybe the core gameplay just isn’t for me. I might give it another go and see how it is after getting more upgrades though. Thanks for the response!
I started this game but got bored a couple hours in and I can’t really explain why. In theory it felt like a game I should really like but maybe something about the pacing? Do you think it takes a while to get really good and maybe I should try putting more time in or is the way it is at the start pretty much the same the whole way through?
Yeah, for me I always end up starting a new colony after getting to rockets. It’s my brain that can’t keep up with the colony past that point
I asked a similar question quite a while back. What ended up feeling good for me from the recommendations was Oxygen Not Included surprisingly. I thought it would be too much but just trying to figure things out on my own was fun, and I found myself falling asleep to thoughts of plans for my colony. Surprisingly addictive and chill, maybe because I could pause and think anytime things started going wrong.
But I also gotta recommend Outer Wilds if you haven’t played it already. Exploration, mystery solving in a chill solar system environment. Go in blind is the best advice for that game but I found it super chill and relaxing.
it is the right moment for everyone who builds systems of control to reflect. It’s the right moment to pierce those layers of abstraction that allow you to get through each day, and question why it’s so financially lucrative for the system you’re building to exist.
Because there is no abstraction as leaky as a man waiting outside your hotel at 6:45 in the morning with a gun and murderous intent
Amazingly written article, last line giving me chills
“Saving money by” vs “making money by”
That’s a relief, was worried I was gonna have to figure out an alternative again
Does it actually? Genuinely want to know. I’ve been using Revanced since vanced stopped working and haven’t seen a single ad but maybe that’s because of other things I’m doing with my phone
Not the way I use legit sites!
Jokes aside, I agree and I hate it
I feel like they’ve had this for a while but maybe the specific situation is different. I might also be getting confused with Tapas.
Years ago I was reading “Extreme Dog Owner” while it was being released and was blocked out of latest episodes. So when the artist stopped the series it took a while before I realized the last few episodes would never get unlocked for me. Sounds like the same situation? Minus the huge piracy warnings.
Luckily I had a friend who bought it already then just read on their device.
Just this weekend I took an old Gen 1 Surface Go and put the latest Fedora on it and it’s amazing, very intuitive for touch screens. Tried Mint before and it gave me enough issues that I didn’t use that Tablet at all for almost a year.
Edit to clarify, I run Mint on my desktop and love it, just didn’t really work well on my old Surface Go.
