Losing fmovies wasn’t the bad thing as there are dozens of clones. It’s the hosting services that really took a hit. The reliable ones have been down for a while. The ones left buffer much slower and can’t handle peak times as well. Those years with fmovies really felt like the golden age of piracy.

The cheapest one in the size you wanted. You can get 55" 4k tvs for as little as $250 when on sale at microcenter and they work/look great. Buy a $50 sound bar on Amazon as all TVs in the low range have terrible sound.

I wouldn’t blame those 2. Forums have been dying since Myspace and Facebook. The specialized ones like the machinist and woodworking ones I belong to are going strong. So are the firearm related ones.

If she works with other teams they will be using Adobe software and a Linux box will slow her down. I don’t have the most up to date computer but had these requirements when buying:

• 64gb fast RAM - large vector files with 1000s of paths will need lots of RAM not to go sluggish
• Upper mid-range processor/GPU- you don’t need an i9 and 4080 card. Graphic software won’t tax the GPU. If she does mostly motion graphics/video editing then if could be useful but otherwise save your money.
• Ultrawide monitor - This is a huge efficiency boost. Being able to run Photoshop and illustrator together on the same screen, without a bezel losing your mouse pointer. Big quality of life improvement for designers.
