  • The thing that he doesn’t understand is that he cannot ascertain my “entire personality” by simply seeing the facets of it I show in linux forums.

Furthermore, I would argue that creating and singularly sustaining a salty “fuck linux” community puts OP pretty far up the list of “linux is entire personality,” even if “anti-” it’s still likely more than most of us tbh. Like I say, all I know of them is from that comm so I’m sure there’s other facets to their personality I’m not privy to, I’m just saying, who is really more obsessed, the guy posting in forums and sometimes recommending it as an alternative when people complain about windows, or the guy who runs a whole ass hate community dedicated to it? Ironic, really.

  • I’ve always theorized that it should be possible to have multiple wake words with different functions, some invisible to the user.

It has to be “always listening” for the wake word to function at all, so it clearly is doing that, what’s to stop them from having another wake word like “bomb” which it then starts recording and sends to the NSA for instance, or even “clip the last 30 seconds” like an xbox could be feasible. Or even have corporations pay to get on the “list” of secret trigger words, like Toyota pays and it hears “Toyota” or “new car” and starts serving ads for 2026 Celicas (I wish lol). It doesn’t even have to send much data back for that, just “ohp, said word, check box to join ‘toyota’ ad group.”

I’m not saying they do that, but like, it sounds totally easily possible and I can’t be the first person that had this idea, why wouldn’t they?

  • Tbf windows is both those things, “a reasonably working and widespread literal spyware masterpiece that sucks up every bit of data it can, with broad compatibility.”

Not saying it’s good, but it “works,” it is widespread due to exclusivity contracts with the major manufacturers iirc and people’s reluctance to install anything else, it is compatible with a broad range of softwares and hardwares because if someone makes something it basically has to support windows, and it is great at spying on users.

Also tbf, if I ditched windows because of spying, why would I want to install a spying linux? I don’t want canonical’s bullshit either, if I’m ditching spying for spying I may as well just not and then I can keep using PKhex without going through wine ffs.

Btw china has been caught operating police stations illegally on “western™” soil. So like,

Like honestly what thoughts exactly do you think China is pilicing on western users and how are they acting on them

    Basically “that.” https://www.newsweek.com/china-overseas-police-service-center-public-security-bureau-safeguard-defenders-transnational-crime-1764531

  • Idk about worse but it is possible for two things to be bad. If one spies for china and the other spies for america, they’re both effectively the same. There’s other more trustworthy options than either however, so unless someone has a gun to your head forcing you to pick one of the two this whataboutism is a false dichotomy, just pick “something else.”
