But ublock origin lite is by the same dev… Not as many features but it conforms to the new rules and is still much better than not having a blocker if you use chrome or edge.

Nintendo makes money on EVERY cart sold and every electronic purchase… it is a major part of their EXPENSIVE model and why Nintendo platform games always seem more expensive. It is also why they still sell cart based systems so they are the ONLY supplier of the media, but now they have their own eStore as well.

99% sure that only happened after Sega stopped making competing consoles. IE more game content benefited their console platform

Nearly all social media is full of eco echo chambers… I still post and follow stuff on several of the platforms. There is very little nuanced conversation… Seems like it is more and more just an up vote or downvote storm, or people claiming one thing or another without any supporting evidence.

None of our end users know how to use Unix/Linux… MacOS or Chrome books would be more likely looking at the youngest in the work force.
Everything else you listed basically comes down to end user / power user preferences. 99% of our end users barely remember what to click on if it is not on their desktop.

Being able to mass configure, secure and monitor all devices with many different vendor tools remotely is nice. Have you ever tried to manage a fleet of Linux laptops in the field?
I am in the camp that there is a benefit to the managed store. Since moving family members to iOS devices the number of times they have loaded malware or asked me for help installing ANYTHING dropped to zero.
Should techies be able to side load if they want? Sure, should that be a primary install method? No.
