Hey, babe! The new 2025 pandemic just dropped!
Well, you’re in luck. The Piccolo N150 netbook is an 8in screen lol
I appreciated it, since he didn’t do a legit stress test. Running a local llm is intensive on the hardware, and if it performs well on that, it’ll likely perform well on most standard, non-useless tasks. So, I see that part as a makeshift stress test.
Furiphone flx1 looks promising
So you exclusively want ai. Got it.
-Microsoft, probably
I remember when OLED was that extensive…
And while that’s possible for now, it won’t be for much longer, based on the A/B testing yt has been doing. We’re giving them too much power and relying on tools to bypass the stuff we don’t like, but those tools have their days numbered, regrettably.
“we noticed you uninstall Recall. Probably just an accident. We reinstalled it in an unremovable way and enabled it for you. You’re welcome!”

Before being an accessibility product, the tech has to prove itself. I wouldn’t want to be the guinea pig for a product that could, if malfunctions, trap me in my jacket. But, yes, once proven, this would be an amazing application of the tech.

Yes we can. Third party front ends exist for yt and there are other (admittedly not as polished) alternatives for the entire platform. When enough viewers use them, it will force the hands of the posters to use other, less abusive avenues (maybe in addition to yt). I’m fine with monetization, but not when it degrades my experience. There are better ways. Yt isn’t the only one, nor is it the first. It’s just the most popular currently.
You’re not wrong. But it won’t happen because of this change, and it’s not going to happen tomorrow. So, as of now, they’re just complaining. I say ‘they’, because I left yt when they started video ads. I didn’t mind the banners, but the unskippable video disruptions were what broke my camel’s back (some of the early ones, if you recall, controlled your volume levels and turned themselves up). You’re right, eventually, everyone will hit a breaking point, but if the 60-120s unskippable video ads weren’t that point, this simple UI change won’t be that for the vast majority of users.
Looks like they just adopted material you design. It’s a ‘whatever’ change for me.
And you think people will do anything more than just bitch about it? Noooopppppeeeee
Only when you pirate over $1 trillion in a calendar year, so we’re fine. Facebook, maybe not so much…
No. COVID didn’t lead to this. Their insane greed lead to this. We were more than happy to pay a fair price to own a product, but no… they wanted more, and more, and more, and, eventually, we had enough. The fact that it happened during a pandemic is irrelevant, because it didn’t lead to this. Their greed lead to this.
Not just hiding, but actively blocking. Pissants.
But it should be optional with a very clear “if you don’t have this account then X could happen” warning and agreement. I don’t want a ms account, and my computer shouldn’t force me into it. That’s my gripe with that bit.
Disabling wol and USB is usually a bios-level setting. Everything else is windows being shite.
