Last year my ISP forced v6 and disabled the option to set v4 only. I lost the Adgurd Home DNS configuration in all devices. But then learnt a few things and able to use internal ipv6 address for dns although still unable to configure ipv6 in Docker :/
It’s normal. Some thumb drive heats a lot but it will continue to work.
That was very smooth even if it is staged.
PSA encodes are one of the best for popular shows and movies. Just give it a try. Generally their encodes is to be consumed as it is and 4k versions might not work with some devices since they only give HDR10 and Dolby Vision encodes. If you intend to watch it with media server with transcoding better go with QxR
The quality also went downhill. In my region Disney+ removed HDR support from all titles and dropped the bitrate to very low on top of that there are so many ads. Video quality is shit now. Even with subscription I’m watching PSA encodes.

Why Qwant, it is not even available globally.
I am using firefox with uBP and didn’t noticed a single problem you mentioned. It works fine without any degraded performance or buffering even with 4k 60fps.
This article was posted in 2016, how is it relevant today?
As said use docker but if you directly want to run a DNS and VPN servers then my recommadtion is Adguard Home instead of PiHole since it is rootless and doesn’t modify system And for VPN go with PiVPN script and setup wireguard. Once installed both handle automatic updates without running a single command.
Did you checked Zima board/blade?
Almost every android phone. Not sure about iPhone though.

As per the website there are around 900 active users servers on lemmy
I recently joined the fediverse both lemmy and mastodon and tbh lemmy is more active. Mastodon is just an echo chamber only bots are reposting from reddit and twitter.
Yeah, thanks for reminding the name.
There is a self hosted alternative for google photos if you have NAS. I don’t remember the name and it’s not nextcloud but that project have web and mobile apps to sync and they catalog photos with face and name similar to google. If you are specifically looking for storing and syncing photos mega.nz is decent but pricey alternatively pClound offers one time purchase during holiday season which is much more affordable.
